A native of Platte County, Lisa Pope was elected to office in 2004 and brings 16 years experience to managing the assessment of all real estate and personal property in a county exploding with growth.
She was officially appointed to her position by Governor Matt Blunt after former assessor Christine McQuitty issued her resignation in 2005. Before seeking office, Pope was chief deputy assessor in the Platte County assessor's office for 14 years.
Her accomplishments in that position included spearheading the implementation of a technologically advanced appraisal and assessment computer program; collaborating with the collector's office to solve taxpayer issues; and developing office procedure manuals for personal property and business personal property.
