Quality and conservative values have been added to the Platte County Clerk’s office with the election of Joan. Among those values are; removing the waste from office processes giving a quality based value to the office; updated records retention; “attested” administrative session documents linked to minutes on the county website; available MP3 of administrative sessions and professionally updating the audio mixer equipment at a minimal cost; salaries reduced near 6.5%; early in her first year, reduced county maintenance staff by cleaning her own office; repurposing furniture and equipment from county surplus instead of buying new; and painting and repair of Clerk’s office with her conserved office budget.
Joan, our Platte County Clerk, was born and raised in southwest Missouri. She and her husband, Vernon, have three children and four grandchildren. Her home church is Harmony Vineyard and she resides in Platte County since 2002.
Her forward goals include; reducing the county licensing fees enabling local businesses to secure more “dollars in their pockets” for expansion and growth in Platte County; continually raising the office standards to a 21st century business acumen. Joan Harms will continue to bring leadership linked with quality based service to our Platte County citizens, her employers. |
