Duane Soper and his wife Val, have been residents of the 2nd District for over 40 years. They live in Platte City, have raised their children; Alex, a junior at the University of Missouri, and their daughter Sammy, a senior at Platte County R3, in Platte County and are proud to call this home.

Duane has been an active member of the community, serving as a Church Deacon at the First Christian Church in Platte City, Scout Leader, and thirty-five years as a small business owner. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Wells Bank of Platte City and served seven terms as a Commissioner of the Platte City Special Road District.

Elected County Commissioner in November, 2012, Commissioner Soper has an open-door policy at the Commission office and encourages citizens to drop by or call with their concerns, complaints, or well-wishes. “I’m not a politician.
