Responsibilities:
- Patrols highways and roads of the county and responds to citizens' calls.
- Apprehends and commits all felons to jail.
- Houses, guards and maintains the prisoners of the County.
- Provides security for the Circuit Court.
- Executes all civil process issued by the Court.
- Maintains the communications center, the KCI airport narcotics squad and the Tact squad.
- Provides animal control.
