The conflict resolution/anger control program is a one-day class. The program focuses on teaching skills and concepts that enable participants to choose alternatives to violence.
The focus of the parent educational component is to provide parents information about conflict resolution and the opportunity to assess their own anger and conflict resolution skills. The youth and their parents will leave with a behavioral contract and the skills to make the contract work.
All youth referred to the juvenile office are eligible to attend the conflict resolution program. The juvenile officer assessment, parental commitment and reason for referral are considered in determining whether the youth is appropriate for the program. Youth referred for crimes against persons are given priority.
